Questions
Can You Use a Gift Card for Weed Delivery in Los Angeles?
Yes, many weed delivery services in Los Angeles accept gift cards, but not all. Visa, Mastercard, and store-specific gift cards can often be used like debit or credit cards, but policies vary by service. Always check with the delivery service before ordering.
Which Weed Delivery Services in LA Accept Gift Cards?
The short answer: it depends on the service. Many delivery services in Los Angeles accept gift cards that are backed by major card networks like Visa or Mastercard, but store-specific gift cards are rarely accepted.
| Delivery Service | Gift Card Acceptance | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Honor Roll Delivery | Yes, via card networks | Accepts credit/debit cards (including tap to pay) with a $5 fee; gift cards from Visa/Mastercard work like a debit card. |
| Eaze | Varies | Check their payment options at checkout; often accepts prepaid cards. |
| Stiiizy Delivery | Varies | May accept prepaid cards; confirm on their site. |
| Weedmaps | Varies by retailer | Weedmaps is a platform; each listed delivery service sets its own payment rules. |
| Other local services | Call ahead | Always call or check the website before ordering. |
When in doubt, call the delivery service directly. At Honor Roll Delivery, we accept Visa and Mastercard gift cards just like a debit or credit card — just let us know when you order.
Visa, Store, or eGift Cards: Which Are Accepted for Delivery?
Not all gift cards are created equal. Here's how different types stack up for weed delivery in LA.
| Gift Card Type | Accepted? | How It Works |
|---|---|---|
| Visa/Mastercard gift card | Usually yes | Works like a prepaid debit card; enter the card number and PIN (if required) at checkout. |
| American Express gift card | Sometimes | Some services accept Amex; others don't. Check with the delivery service. |
| Store-specific gift card (e.g., dispensary) | Rarely | These are tied to a physical location and can't be used for delivery. |
| eGift cards (digital) | Varies | If it's a Visa/Mastercard eGift card, it works like the physical version. If it's store-specific, it won't. |
At Honor Roll Delivery, we accept Visa and Mastercard gift cards, including eGift cards, as long as they have a card number and can be processed like a standard card. We also accept ACH and Zelle if you prefer.
Step-by-Step: Paying for Weed Delivery with a Gift Card
- Check the balance — Before ordering, verify your gift card has enough funds to cover the total, including any delivery fees and tip.
- Choose a delivery service that accepts gift cards — Look for services that accept Visa/Mastercard or prepaid cards. Honor Roll Delivery does.
- Place your order online or by phone — When you reach the payment step, select "credit/debit card" and enter your gift card details like a regular card.
- Confirm the payment goes through — Some gift cards require a ZIP code or PIN. Enter the billing ZIP associated with the card (often the ZIP where it was purchased).
- Keep the card until delivery — The driver may need to see it for verification, or you may need it for returns or disputes.
If you're ordering from Honor Roll Delivery, just mention you're paying with a gift card when you call or note it in the delivery instructions. We'll make sure it's processed smoothly.
No Gift Card Accepted? Here Are Your Options
A good fit if…
- You have a Visa or Mastercard gift card and the service accepts card payments.
- You're flexible with payment methods and can use a debit card, ACH, or cash.
Consider another option if…
- You only have a store-specific gift card and the delivery service won't accept it.
- You don't want to pay a card processing fee (some services charge $5 for card payments).
If your preferred service doesn't take gift cards, check if they accept ACH, Zelle, or cash on delivery. At Honor Roll Delivery, we accept cash, credit/debit (with a $5 fee), ACH, and Zelle (with a $75 minimum). So even if a gift card isn't an option, you've got alternatives.

Is It Legal to Use a Gift Card for Weed Delivery in California?
Yes, it's legal. California allows licensed cannabis delivery services to accept payment via gift cards as long as they're processed like a standard card transaction. The key is that the delivery service itself is licensed by the state — like Honor Roll Delivery, which holds California Department of Cannabis Control License #C9-0000626-LICA.
There's no state law prohibiting gift card use for cannabis. However, individual services may choose not to accept them due to processing policies. Always confirm with the service before ordering.
