Hidden Costs: Tips, Minimum Orders, and Service Fees
Before you place your order, make sure you know the full out-of-pocket cost. Here's what to look for:
- Minimum order – Most services require a minimum purchase, often $20–$60, to deliver. If you don't meet it, you might pay a higher fee or be turned away.
- Delivery fee – This is separate from the product cost and can be flat or based on distance. Confirm if it's waived with a certain spend.
- Service fees – Some services add a small fee for processing or handling, so ask about any additional charges.
- Tip for the driver – Tipping is customary, usually 10–20% of the order total. Some services include a tip prompt at checkout, but cash is often appreciated.
- Card payment fee – If you pay by credit or debit card, a fee may apply. At Honor Roll Delivery, we charge a $5 fee for card payments, but we accept cash, ACH, and Zelle (with a $75 minimum for Zelle) to help you avoid that.
Always ask for a total quote before you confirm your order. That way, there are no surprises at the door.
